…the radio active
Saturday, May 14th, 2005Between the fact that I am only in my car a few times a week, and the presence of a cell phone or iPod, I don’t find myself listening to the radio that often. Which is too bad, because KEXP here in Seattle is a great station. A great mix of quality music, much like Rev 105 once was (in fact I think they share some staff). I was driving around Seattle on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and caught much of the following setlist. It included some M83, which I had always heard about and seem to be quite good. I got to hear a Wilco song that I had never paid enough attention to. And I heard my first bit of the new New Pornographers record, which sounds perfect and infectious, exactly as one would expect. In fact, I bet if it were on now, I would be hearing a lovely mix of music I know I like and tunes that broaden my horizons. But I doubt it would be as sublime as listening to ‘Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis’ on repeat for an hour.
Sorry I have been ignoring the blog so much. Hopefully I will be fixing that soon; I have a few interesting things to write about.
